Astonishing creativity that Substack is unleashing, collaborative creativity as much as anything. This - I couldn't have conceived of it. Well done!

Thank you, Jay. I loved watching the 5-word replies roll in. You see how I got behind in my reading there for awhile. 😅

Tara, I can't believe the generosity of this gorgeous gift you've given us all! I could spend months doing nothing but explore this incredible compendium! I hope you've given yourself a bit of a rest in the last few days to recover from the enormous effort you must have put in to create this. Thank you, it's amazing!

Out here in the trackless wilderness, you brought a smile and a morsel of poetry during a night of unending rain.

Good to hear from you!

Give my best to Bear.

Hikers get their own stanza,

Five words by five lines.

Listen rain: lighten up already.

Haha! I'm picturing straws that poke above the cloud layer, where it's nice and clear. Upside: The cure for smelly feet is to stick them out the tent flap, bare?

We stayed in a town hotel the other night. I took my boots off, got a whiff, and immediately stuffed them into sealable plastic laundry bag. Apparently, hiker boot stench is only a little less potent than skunk off gassing.

The upside is that mosquitoes stay at bay.

Thank you, Jeffrey. 🙏 Your "Slaughterhouse guy" made a gem of a post, and Jenna managed to channel some of your self-deprecating humor into her own.

Saving is a great idea. The best news would be more connections over time. I think there are a lot of sympatico writers in this list. :-)

Much fun, yes! Thank you for bringing a little warmth from the Fiertzeside. A Feb-March party does need a bit of your blaze.

I missed your Stack anniversary.

Where did I go wrong?

But pitching in for others

Gave readers a lasting song.

Oh my goodness! Meter! rhyme!

Now you've raised the stakes.

You sweeten the poor miscellany

I forgot I was there.

Thanks for the needed reminder.

Cold and windy out there

But still bluer than Florida.

It's easy to lose track

Of all the Substack talent.

So here's a handy organizer

With a few dozen folks,

To peruse, indoors and warm.

(P.S. I appreciate our exchanges!)
